Erik Scheets is a Travel Advisor with Red Suitcase Journeys, an affiliate of Travel Design Co.

Erik grew up moving. His father’s military career meant a new place every few years, and the habit stuck. Fifteen years in hospitality followed, and in 2018 he left his job to hike the length of California on the Pacific Crest Trail, three months on foot.

That pace is what he designs around now. Erik builds cruise itineraries and slow travel routes that give you room to actually arrive somewhere: longer stays, fewer boxes checked, more of the place itself.
